As part of the LLUH Surgery Residency family, our mission doesn’t stop with making man whole during residency.  This extends to our calling to serve in our communities, implementing the skills and values we acquired in training.

If you have been positively impacted by the training or care you received at LLUH, we want to extend the opportunity to help impact future LLUH surgeons and our community at large. We are seeking partners to continue the top notch training of our residents as well as future surgical research to improve the outcomes of our patients.

You may realize that there is always a need for our mission in our community to make this world a better place as a surgeon.  This may be through our Malawi Global Mission Fund or even closer to home with the Surgery Resident Education and Research Fund

You can be assured that through your financial gift our residents will directly benefit allowing them to accomplish their goals of becoming surgical leaders in our community and abroad.

There are many ways to partner with us whether your passion is global surgery, education, or research.

Your tax deductible donation can be the reason a surgery resident:

  • can go to Africa to help the underprivileged receive life-saving surgery or;
  • can receive the unique state-of-the-art training in minimally invasive and precision surgery to be the next leaders in the field of surgery;
  • is able to conduct research to improve the care of our patients and to become a pioneer in the future of surgery through innovative techniques

We have several ways to give from a one-time gift to a recurring donation.  Even a small donation will help us in meeting the needs to sustain these opportunities for our residents.  Every dollar counts!

Your gift will make an immediate impact as 100% of your dollars will go directly to the fund you choose.  If you are interested in sponsoring one of our residents in other ways, there are plenty of opportunities for mentorship!

Thank you for helping build an incredible surgery training program!  Please contact our office directly for further information or you may go to the link below to donate online to one of the following funds.

Malawi Global Mission Fund:  Many of our residents have been able to do a two-month global surgery elective in Malawi, Africa at Malamulo Adventist Hospital.  This fund, started from the generous donations of many former alumni, helps to support the cost of $3,000 per resident to intimately appreciate the disparities faced globally and learn how to serve alongside local surgeons with a mutually beneficial exchange of culture and knowledge.

Resident Leadership and Education:  Our goal for our surgery residency is to develop future leaders in surgery who have the skills to operate and take care of patients in both cutting-edge academic tertiary medical centers as well as in resource poor areas such as rural communities or developing countries.  In addition to surgical excellence, we want to continue to recruit and train a diverse class of future surgeons who understand the importance equity and inclusion according to the mission of LLUH.

Resident Education and Research Fund:  Our goal for our surgery residency is to develop future leaders in surgery who have the skills to operate and take care of patients in both cutting-edge academic tertiary medical centers as well as in resource poor areas such as rural communities or developing countries.  This fund will help to sponsor simulation courses and equipment in addition to recruiting a diverse class of residents to fulfill our mission at LLUH. Every year, we offer our dedicated Research Track for residents who want to dedicate two additional years of residency to pursue basic science, translational, or clinical research. This fund will help support their research efforts during this time as well as support resident-initiated research projects.
